With the coronavirus pandemic disrupting traditional campaigning, candidates and supporters are increasingly turning to social media to reach voters, prompting concerns about online hate speech and disinformation.
March 19 (Reuters) - The Philippines´ presidential candidates debating on Saturday agreed on at least one thing and that was the need to hold social media firms liable for the spread of disinformation as the country prepares for elections on May 9.

PARIS (AP) - French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday unveiled his proposals to boost the economy, fight inequality and improve France´s reactions to global crises if he wins a second term in next month´s elections.

He's been criticized by other candidates for refusing to take part in any televised debate before the first voting round, scheduled on April 10.
Boosting France´s growth must go through "investing more" and "working more," he added, vowing to achieve "full employment." The unemployment rate recently reached 7,4%, down from more than 10% when he came into power.
The man, currently at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes and dubbed 'the most violent prisoner in Britain', also expressed his disgust at claims that serial killer Levi Bellfield had been caught groping a female visitor.

In Sunday's final, Carballes Baena -- who has one ATP tourney win, the Ecuador Open in February 2018 -- will take on Alexandre Muller.
