He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior navigation and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic cleaner and mop vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well, but it's something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This results in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to prevent build-up and reduce the odors.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It's crucial to remember that it carries recurring costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. It has an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum mop cleaner robot. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few lovely jingles to let you know when it was beginning or finished its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the necessity to switch out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock which doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a clean sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognising objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
