The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum and mop vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop rotates at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well however it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's important to keep in mind that it has recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which help to keep certain areas of your house from being cleaned with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect many of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots have struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some lovely jingles that inform you that it was in the process of finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot vacuum uk that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot vacuum uk or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot hoover and mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
