Η ιστορία της Μυρτιάς ή αλλιώς Ελένης Μακρυνιώτη-Τραγγανίδα ζωντανεύει εξήντα πέντε χρόνια από τη λήξη του Εμφυλίου πολέμου στην Ελλάδα (1949) και σαράντα χρόνια από την πτώση της δικτατορίας (1974), στη σκηνή Lab του θεάτρου "Σημείο".
Το έργο " ήλιος στην πέτρα" της Σοφίας Αδαμίδου, βασισμένο στη ζωή της αντάρτισσας του Δημοκρατικού Στρατού, Ελένης Τραγγανίδα, όπως το κατέγραψε στο αφήγημά της "Η Μυρτιά του βουνού" καθώς και σε διηγήσεις άλλων συναγωνιστριών και εξόριστων γυναικών, τόσο την περίοδο του Εμφυλίου όσο και την περίοδο της δικτατορίας, δεν φιλοδοξεί τίποτα περισσότερο, σύμφωνα με τη συγγραφέα, από το "να αναζητήσουμε το άδικο όλοι μαζί. Να ανακαλύψουμε την αιτία. Η εκμετάλλευση του ανθρώπου, μέσα από την παγκοσμιοποιημένη οικονομική και πολιτική κυριαρχία, έχει εχθρούς την ελευθερία του πνεύματος, τη δύναμη του δίκαιου λόγου, την κριτική σκέψη, τη γνώση, την παιδεία. Ποια είναι η Μυρτιά ή αλλιώς Ελένη Μακρυνιώτη-Τραγγανίδα;
Στα ριζά του Παρνασσού υπάρχει ένα όμορφο μικρό χωριό, η Μαργιολάτα. Εκεί γεννήθηκε η Ελένη Μακρυνιώτη, κόρη του Λια, το στερνοπούλι του από τα τέσσερα παιδιά που είχε με την Κατερίνη, ξυλινα τζακια βολος η οποία πέθανε οκτώ μήνες μετά τη γέννα της Λενιώς. Ξαναπαντρεύτηκε τη Μητρούλα, χήρα κι αυτή με δύο δικά της παιδιά. Με τη Μητρούλα απέκτησαν άλλο ένα. Πέρασε δύσκολα παιδικά χρόνια. Ο πατέρας της μια ζωή φυλακές και εξορίες, στέλεχος του ΚΚΕ και αρχηγός του εφεδρικού ΕΛΑΣ του χωριού, του έκοψαν το κεφάλι οι Χίτες την περίοδο του εμφυλίου. Λίγους μήνες πριν, η Ελένη ανέβηκε στο βουνό. Κατατάχθη ΕλλάδαΕλλάδας.
Έφυγε για το βουνό όταν...
Δεκατρείς μήνες μετά τη "Συμφωνία της Βάρκιζας" και είχαν γίνει 1.289 δολοφονίες, 6.671 τραυματισμοί, 31.632 βασανισμοί, 18.767 λεηλασίες και φυλακίσεις, 84.931 συλλήψεις, 509 απόπειρες φόνου, 265 βιασμοί γυναικών. Χιλιάδες καταδιωκόμενοι, αγωνιστές του ΕΑΜ και του ΕΛΑΣ, καθώς και οι οικογένειές τους υποχρεώθηκαν να πάρουν τα βουνά και να υπερασπιστούν τη ζωή τους με το όπλο στο χέρι. Τι σήμαινε για ένα μικρό κορίτσι, στα 16, η απόφαση αυτή;
Όπως την ακούμε να λέει στην παράσταση, "Από μικρή οργιζόμουν με το άδικο. Όσο το άδικο θα υπάρχει, εγώ θα το πολεμάω. Με την αγάπη, μου έλεγε ο πατέρας μου, κάποια μέρα θα λυγίσουμε αυτούς που σπέρνουνε το μίσος και το άδικο. Γι΄ αυτό βγήκα στο βουνό. Μέσα στη συννεφιά του κόσμου, από την πρώτη κιόλας μέρα που βγήκα στο βουνό, είδα τον ήλιο που μας έκρυβαν".
Πώς αποφασίσατε να μεταφέρετε στο θέατρο ένα τέτοιο θέμα, μάλλον δύσκολο;
Κάποιοι, στο όνομα της συμφιλίωσης που βάζει στην άκρη τη μνήμη, ίσως να πουν πως είναι καιρός να ξεχάσουμε την ιστορία του εμφυλίου. Πιστεύω -όπως γράφει και ο γιος της, ο συνάδελφος Γρηγόρης Τραγγανίδας, στον πρόλογο του βιβλίου- "πως είναι καιρός να γράψουν την ιστορία οι ίδιοι οι πρωταγωνιστές της, ότι είναι καιρός να βάλουν οι σκλάβοι τη δική τους υπογραφή σε κάθε πέτρα των πυραμίδων, σε κάθε κολόνα των Παρθενώνων. Δεν είναι περίεργο που κάποιοι ψάχνουν να αυτοεπιβεβαιωθούν στην γαλλικήγαλλικής Επανάστασης και κλείνουν τα μάτια μπροστά σ΄ έναν εμφύλιο που δεν σταμάτησε ποτέ, αλλά που αλλάζει χρώματα και μας ορίζει. Όλοι οι άνθρωποι έχουμε γεννηθεί απ' την ίδια γήινη μήτρα, έχουμε βυζάξει από το ίδιο στήθος, έχουμε τραγουδήσει τα ίδια όνειρα".
Είναι εκπληκτική η ευρηματικότητα που εμφανίζει η ανθρωπότητα, όλους τους αιώνες, στην ανακάλυψη τρόπων βασανιστηρίων, σωματικών και ειδικότερα ψυχικών. Η προσπάθεια αποσκοπεί στην κάμψη της αντίστασης του αντιπάλου, μέχρι τη διάλυση της προσωπικότητας. Ο σωματικός πόνος είναι ένα από τα μέσα, αλλά ο ψυχικός πόνος είναι αυτός που θα φέρει την κάμψη και στη συνέχεια, τη διάλυση της προσωπικότητας. Όχι, δεν θα μας κάμψουν. Η μνήμη κρύβει τη δύναμη. Πολύ περισσότερο όταν συμπυκνώνεται και γίνεται καρφί που τρυπάει το μυαλό και την ψυχή, που γεμίζει φωτιά την καρδιά, ίδιο ηφαίσ ΤΕΙο που το σώμα μας δεν του φτάνει. Και το θέατρο μπορεί να συμβάλει σ΄ αυτό. Όπως έλεγε ο Ντάριο Φο "... το θέατρο είναι το αμεσότερο όπλο. Όχι για να δώσει λύσεις, αλλά για να βοηθήσει σε μια μάχη"...
Μέσα, λοιπόν, από την ιστορία μιας από τις χιλιάδες αγωνίστριες, της κυρά Ελένης, που είναι ακόμη μάχιμη, συνέθεσα το σύμβολο της αγωνίστριας γυναίκας, της αγωνίστριας μάνας. Στο πρόσωπο της Μυρτιάς, δραματουργικά αξιοποιώντας κι άλλες μαρ τυρίες δημιούργησα μια θεατρική ηρωίδα που δεν σηκώνει "τ΄ άδικο" που ζούμε και σήμερα. Μια ηρωίδα που έζησε στις μάχες. Ατέλειωτες μάχες... Πάντα σε θέση μάχης. Ποτέ σε θέση ανάπαυσης.
Πόσα από τα νοήματα του έργου έχουμε ξεχάσει;
Δεν είναι μόνο τι έχουμε ξεχάσει. Είναι και το τι έχουν μάθει οι νεότερες γενιές. Όσοι είχαν την τύχη να έχουν την ιστορία ζωντανή δίπλα τους, από γονείς ή παππούδες, έμαθαν κάποια πράγματα. Πότε δικαιώνεται, όμως, ένα ιδανικό; Όταν δεν χρειάζεται να έχεις δίπλα σου τους ανθρώπους που πάλεψαν για να το νιώσεις, αλλά να το νιώθεις γύρω σου. Να το βλέπεις σε κάθε γωνιά της πόλης και του χωριού, σε κάθε πρόσωπο που συναντάς, σαν χαμόγελο. Γιατί αυτή είναι ουσιαστικά η ανθρώπινη ιστορία. Είμαι περήφανη για όλους τους συντελεστές της παράστασης. Σχολεία και φορείς της Ελληνοαμερικανικής κοινότητας τίμησαν την ιστορική επέ ΤΕΙο της 28ης Οκτωβρίου, υπογραμμίζοντας τη διαχρονικότητα των μηνυμάτων της, αλλά και τη συμ παράσταση των ομογενών στη σημερινή δοκιμασία του Ελληνικού λαού. Αρκετά ημερήσια και απογευματινά σχολεία ελληνορθόδοξων κοινοτήτων πραγματοποίησαν εκδηλώσεις με ομιλίες, απαγγελίες ποιημάτων και τραγούδια.Η Ομοσπονδία Ελληνικών Σωματείων Νέας Υόρκης διοργάνωσε και φέτος την καθιερωμένη πια παρέλασή της στην Αστόρια.
